I have apps for my iPhone…lots of them. What I need is a personal assistant, so I have been looking hard for an app that can pull off some of those duties. The biggest thing I need is for someone to keep reminding me of the things that I need to do. There are some great apps out there, but most of them require way too much effort on my part. My view is they are supposed to help me without me helping them…other than to input some data. But once I input it, I want to forget about it…that is, until I’m reminded.

I have found something that works pretty damn good. RE.minders. I forgot how I found it or even what I was searching for. Doesn’t matter. This app will bug you to death until you do the task that you told it to bug you about. It is awesome. The perfect nag.

When you set a reminder, you can input when you want the app to remind you the first time. You can also set it to Repeat. This will allow you to have it remind you every 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 day…it doesn’t matter as it is up to you to set the “nag” function. Make no mistake, the nag function is what this app is all about. It will just keep reminding you until you delete that specific reminder.

If you happen to be that person that only needs reminding once (because you will complete the task upon receiving the first reminder), then the app will send the reminder into the history just in case you want to review your accomplishments, I suppose. That ain’t me. I need a nag.

If you are the guy that needs encouragement, set this baby up to send you comments that will motivate you. It is awesome. I have one set up to work harder because college ain’t paying for itself. This app is free, so you really can’t afford not to try it if you think it will help.

Downloaded the iPhone app, War. This is a quick moment you can have with your child with a competitive spirit. The fun part is you can shout “WAR!!!” together.

Got my tail whipped (by my six-year-old son) yesterday playing ping-pong on my iPhone.

It is amazing what .99 cents will do when it comes to bonding with your child. The app is Skyworks Table Tennis. I do think, however, that the app worked against me to help my son win. Just saying.
